Project Selene

“Selene” is the name given to a project for  a home built ‘Self-Launcher’.
The basic layout is a folding propeller fitted to the extreme rear of the aircraft behind the fin and rudder.
The engine is installed rearward of the wings and connected to the propeller by means of the drive-train set.The result is, a safe pleasant and easy to fly, aircraft with performance similar to that of a standard ASW20.The aircraft has a 500m take-off roll at an airfield situated 5000 ft above sea level and climbs at 600 ft/min. The engine-start procedure will take less than 5 seconds to accomplish. The system is designed for reliability and an in-flight engine-start failure will not change the aircraft’s glide angle.
